ABOUT ABOUT

Dr. J. Ward Regan, professor of history and philosophy at NYU, examines the rise of the union movement as a response to changing work conditions brought about by the process of industrialization, from the 1830s to the 20th century. Looking at both the technological transformation of the workplace and the development of trade unions, we get a clear picture of the cultural impacts of industrialization.
