ABOUT ABOUT

The three featured poets will be Steve Borodkin, Ellen Pober Rittberg, and Kris Janvier.

Steve, an artist and musician, writes Poems, essays, short stories, and way too many love letters, and just completed a memoir, Street Level.  He believes the relationship between writer and reader can be a magical and transformative experience for both. The best form of self expression contains vulnerability, poetic thought, and empathy.

Ellen is a journalist, attorney, cruise ship lecturer, TV producer, and author of humorous self-help books on caregiving and parenting. Her first-person essays and features have appeared in the New York Times, HuffPost, Reader’s Digest, and Newsday. Her books include 35 Things Your Teen Won’t Tell You, the brand new He is Walking Wider and my favorite Why Is Grandma Naked?: Caring for Your Aging Parent.

Kris appeared in the short film, "The Bigger Picture", which is now streaming on Amazon Prime.  While in High School, he began participating in the Herstory Writer's Workshop at SUNY Old Westbury. His poem, "Train Conductor", is in the anthology, "Nassau County Voices in Verse 2023". He draws inspiration from music, video games, photography, paintings, digital art, and culture. Kris believes all humans are creative.
